Work meeting between Foreign Investors Council and the economic team of the Government

The Foreign Investors Council and the economic team of the Government, led by the Prime Minister Mr. Hristijan Mickoski, held the second joint meeting on 16.12.2024. In the presence of representatives of about 40 companies with foreign capital operating in the country, representatives of the Government and several state institutions, the following issues were discussed:

  • Involvement of the Foreign Investors Council and the Economic Chamber in drafting the legislation
  • Reduction of customs rates
  • Law on Minimum Global Tax and its harmonization with the Law on TIDZ
  • Digitization and facilitation of work and residence permit procedures for foreigners
  • Development of new Guidelines for eligible investment costs
  • Minimum wages
  • Sunday non-working day
  • Possibilities for using the new favorable loans
  • Possibilities for establishing an efficient Aftercare system for foreign investors

The discussions and proposals are aimed at concrete improvements to the business climate in the country and increasing the competitiveness and successful work of existing investors, as well as attracting new foreign investments.

The next joint meeting of the Foreign Investors Council and the Government is scheduled for March 2025.
